Syncytia formation of human transformed cell lines by simian sarcoma virus type I (SSV-I/SSAV-I).

چکیده
Human cells derived from malignant tumors (HeLa, HEp-2 and KB) and human cells transformed by tumor viruses (KCand RSb) formed syncytia by simian sarcoma virus type I (SSV-I/SSAV-I), but human diploid or non-transformed cells (WI-38, HEL and HEC) did not.

Molecular cloning of integrated simian sarcoma virus: genome organization of infectious DNA clones.
The integrated form of simian sarcoma virus (SSV) was molecularly cloned in the Charon 16A strain of bacteriophage lambda. In transfection analysis, the recombinant viral DNAs demonstrated the ability to transform cells in tissue culture at high efficiency. Such transformants possessed typical SSV morphology, expressed simian sarcoma associated virus (SSAV) gag gene products in the absence of v...
متن کاملANTISENSE RNA TO THE TYPE I INSULIN-LIKE GROWTH FACTOR RECEPTOR REVERSED THE TRANSFORMED PHENOTYPE OF PC-3 HUMAN PROSTATE CANCER CELL LINE IN VITRO
The insulin-like growth factor I receptor (IGF-IR) plays an essential role in the establishment and maintenance of transformed phenotype. Interference with the IGF-IR pathway by antisense causes reversal of the transformed phenotype in many rodent and human tumor cell lines. We stably transfected the PC-3 human prostate cancer cell line with an IGF-IR antisense RNA expression plasmid. The ...
متن کاملHuman T Lymphotropic Virus Type I (HTLV-I) Oncogenesis: Molecular Aspects of Virus and Host Interactions in Pathogenesis of Adult T cell Leukemia/Lymphoma (ATL)
The study of tumor viruses paves the way for understanding the mechanisms of virus pathogenesis, including those involved in establishing infection and dissemination in the host tumor affecting immune-compromised patients. The processes ranging from viral infection to progressing malignancy are slow and usually insufficient for establishment of transformed cells that develop cancer in only ...
متن کاملInduction of syncytia by the bovine C-type leukemia virus.
Bovine buffy coat cells infected with the bovine leukemia virus (BLV) induce syncytia formation in human diploid embryonic lung cells as well as in monolayer cell cultures of bovine, simian, ovine, bat, and caprine origin, but not in mouse fibroblast cells, normall rat kidney cells, or RSV-transformed rat cells. Syncytia were not observed in diploid embryonic lung cells inoculated with bovine b...
متن کاملAbsence of C-type virus production in human leukemic B cell, T cell and null cell lines.
Electron microscope observation of cultured human leukemic B cell, T cell and null cell lines and reverse transcriptase assay of the culture supernatants were all negative for the presence of C-type virus. Bat cell line, which propagates primate C-type viruses well, was cocultivated with the human leukemic cell lines, in the hope of amplification of virus if present. Three weeks after mixed cul...
